Aloha!

I started visiting Hawaii on a High School senior trip, and since then have had the opportunity to go back and explore more. It is such an interesting part of the earth, new islands made with fresh hot magma. The oldest island of Hawaii is Kauai which formed 5.1 million years ago, then Niihau which formed 4.9 million years ago, then Oahu, Hawaii's third largest island formed 3 and a half million years ago, followed by Molokai which was formed 1 and a half million years, then Maui, Hawaii's second largest island formed a million years ago and lastly The Big Island of Hawaii which formed half a million years ago and is the youngest of the Hawaiian chain. Another volcano named Lo'ihi is being created currently and is expected to emerge from the seas in 10,000 to 100,000 years time as it is still 1000m below the ocean's surface and become an island. The mix of cultures and beautiful beaches give it character. A good friend of mine and has been visiting Hawaii for years with his family. He showed me some of his favorite spots, and had one of the nicest Hawaii beach weddings I have ever seen. If I had never visited S.E. Asia, Hawaii would be at the top of my list for retirement places. Typing this, I am craving shaved ice and (food truck) garlic shrimp and rice! Oh, and a side of Kalua Pork! ~ Mahalo!

Hike Diamond Head

Get there early, there is always a mob of people trying to catch the sunrise.

This local caught an Octopus

Wonder if he knew it was one of the most intelligent sea creatures?
Probably not, let's put it on the grill!
